Live National Teleconference Broadcast: Helping Adolescents Cope with Loss
We will present the Hospice Foundation of America’s Annual National Teleconference on Thursday April 10th from 12:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at our office in the historic Ironworks building, 655 Third Street, Suite 200, Beloit, Wisconsin. This year the live national broadcast explores how to help adolescents cope with loss, including identifying developmental issues encountered in adolescence, discussing how schools and professionals can help, and describing how sudden traumatic deaths complicate grief. Case studies will be addressed during the program and then by local experts. Cost is $25, which includes program materials.
Participants may wish to bring their own lunches. Continuing education credits can be obtained online for a variety of professional licenses for a fee of $15 until April 24th and then the fee increases to $25. Please reserve your seat by April 3rd by contacting Beloit Regional Hospice toll free at (877) 363-7421 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If space permits, registrations will also be taken at the door, but all payments must be received on or before April 10th. Click here for more information and to download the brochure.
Hospice and Transitions Volunteer Training
Join the growing team of over 100 active volunteers for Beloit Regional Hospice on Saturday, March 8th, and Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Beloit Regional Hospice office, 655 Third Street, Suite 200, Beloit Wisconsin. This two day informal and interactive training will answer your questions on the end-of-life process, how to talk to the dying, hospice philosophy, pain & symptom management and spirituality. In the words of a recently trained volunteer, "The positive atmosphere of everyone, caring, loving, helping, this was very eye opening, because my 1st impression –was hospice care is death, but it is hope and life for people."
Hospice and Transitions volunteers are essential to the array of services offered by Beloit Regional Hospice and volunteers make their own schedules depending upon their availability. For this training, you must attend both days and registration is requested, so please call 608 363-7421 or email Sherrie Swanson, Volunteer Coordinator, at email@example.com by February 24th, 2014 to reserve your spot. A light lunch is provided each day.
